Painting a "Picture" of a Football Game |
~ Improvisation for the Theater ~ Students create pictures that come to life as they play improvisational theater games that teach them important life skills. Virtual Universe's "improv" workshop focuses on the actor as part of the ensemble and the actor's body as a tool. The primary concepts of the workshop are: trust, cooperation and support (for the group) and relaxation and concentration (for the individual). These are tools for life. The workshop is broken into three sections: Warm-up; Awareness and sensitivity for the group; and Practical application of games, exercises and fun. Physical improvisation leads to character development and scene building. Sensitivity of the individual towards his or her environment is stressed. Actors learn to keep a thread alive, to follow through with physical and vocal commitment and intensity. |
