"I would especially like to thank JW and Jenny who made the experience both
personally and aesthetically rewarding and one of the most pleasant productions
that I have ever worked on." Thomas Donahue, Theater Department Chair, Catholic

Directing Workshop
"We had the pleasant experience of attending the June Director's Workshop led
by J.W. Rone at the Ice House - the Morgan County Arts Council facility in
Berkeley Springs, WV.
The three day workshop was informative, imaginative and fun. We have written
material for plays, written music for musicals and performed as musicians and
actors in local productions. We took the workshop in preparation for co-directing
a one act play, written by Larry some years ago, that will be performed in
September of this year at the Ice House. This directing experience will be a
first for both of us.
We actually came to the workshop thinking we knew a great deal about directing
because we had both worked with numerous directors. Wrong!!
J.W. brought his acting and directing experience to this teaching situation very
efficiently. Things we would never have thought about were made so apparent.
Emphasis was placed on balance, moving of actors on the stage, placement of actors
for strength of character, crosses that work in the small and difficult space of
the Ice House stage, lighting to point up certain characteristics, etc., etc.
All this to say that it was a valuable experience and we were grateful to have
the opportunity of working with J.W. Rone." Pat and Larry Springer, One Act Play
Festival Directors, Ice House Theater Project
